Southwire Surge Guard (portable LCD) error code REPLACE SURGE
Surge expended. The built-in surge protection has been sacrificed to protect the RV and no longer works; the red SURGE LED is on. Other features (voltage, wiring and current protection) still work, so the RV may still have power - but it is no longer surge-protected and Southwire recommends replacing the unit. Southwire's warranty treats an expended surge section as the unit having done its job: the Limited Lifetime Warranty is void and a new unit must be bought.
What to check, and in what order, is in the app. The flow Southwire Surge Guard portable - LCD message to cause (pedestal, coach or unit) walks this code step by step with the pass/fail measurements, wiring schematics and procedures that go with it, and it works offline in the bay.
